Ok, so I really didn't do well with my long runs during this training, so hopefully I will do well next week at my 1/2 marathon. Saturday - Day 6 #2weekchallenge
Sunday - rest day

My goals for this week are to continue with week 2 of the #2weekchallenge, and get in a few short runs to be ready for my 1/2 marathon on Sunday!!! :)

Allied shirts review

I had the pleasure of getting the opportunity to design my own t-shirt through Allied Shirts, and let me tell you it was such a breeze to do. The hardest part of the whole process was trying to decide what I wanted on my shirt. Not only was it easy, the entire process from start to receiving my shirt was very quick. The ordering took no more than 5 minutes, and the website was very user friendly. And then I had my shirt in less than a week. I ordered the short sleeve budget tee, and I am very happy with the quality of the shirt and the quality of the design. The only thing that is slightly wrong with my shirt is the placement of the design, and that was my fault. I placed it a little low when I designed it, but it's still awesome!

Me, totally happy with my shirt!! :)

So, I've kept you in suspense long enough, I know you are dying to know what design I made on my t-shirt......

Of course, I would pick this one as a reminder that of what to do everyday, and of course it's in pink :)

So, now that you want to design your own awesome shirt, go on over to Allied Shirts and get busy!!

This review was made possible by Allied Shirts. The thoughts and views are my own. I was given a self-designed t-shirt for my time and effort on this campaign.

Mamavation Monday

Sorry, I started this yesterday and got sidetracked. My week was okay for exercise and eating, still room for improvement. I've joined a few challenges that I hope will lead me in the right direction. So here's my recap for the week.

Monday - Strength training
Tuesday - 3.23 mile tempo run
Wednesday - strength training
Thursday - 3 mile run
Friday - strength training
Saturday - 4 mile walk
Sunday - 4 mile walk

I did pretty well with not overeating on Thanksgiving and then we went camping this past weekend and it was so much fun. A lot of walking with the pup.... he loves trail walks and runs. How was your Thanksgiving? Did you overeat, or did you behave yourself ;) ?

Mamavation Monday

Well my week was okay, but again I didn't get my long run in and I have no one to blame but myself. I was just too lazy to do it.... I did force myself to take a walk with the dog and get a little strength training in. Ugh, what is wrong with me... I love to run, why can't I get my butt out the door :( I need to kick my butt into gear. Well here's my wrap up anyways -

Monday - strength training
Tuesday - 3.24 mile tempo run
Wednesday - strength training
Thursday - 4 mile run
Friday - strength training
Saturday - bowling
Sunday - strength training, 1.5 mile walk with the dog.

I have been a lot better with drinking water, and I'm still working on portion control. This week is going to be a struggle with all the yummy food on the Thanksgiving table, but I'm going to take small portions of everything so I don't overeat.

Anyone have any good tips for not overeating on Thanksgiving?

Oh, and I don't want to forget, tonight on Mamavation TV, Ashley Turner will be talking about how to defeat stress on the holidays!! I can't wait!!!!  Check it out here -

Deep Steep Glossy Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Last month my friends at Vitacost sent me Deep Steep glossy smoothing shampoo and conditioner to review and it was perfect timing because I had just ran out of my favorite shampoo and conditioner. I was really excited to give it a try because it is completely natural and I am slowly trying to move all my hair care and body products over to all natural and organic.

I immediately loved how the product made my hair feel. It was soft and silky and not frizzy. That was a major plus for me because I constantly have a problem with frizzy hair. But I didn't want to review this product after only a week, because I know I've tried new shampoos and conditioners and your hair loves them for the first week because it's a change, but then as the month goes on your hair goes back to the same problems you were feeling before. I am not seeing that with Deep Steep. My hair still feels amazing, and no frizz!!! I'm so impressed with this product. Another plus, it's completely reasonably priced. You can purchase the shampoo through Vitacost for just $8.29, and the conditioner here for the same price.

See.... still silky and smooth :D

I only have two minor complaints about the shampoo. First, it's liquidy and comes out very fast, and second, it takes a bit more than regular shampoo to get a nice lather. But, it's not such a big deal to me because if you're like me, your conditioner always runs out before your shampoo, this way I will run out of them together.

Another quality product from Vitacost!!!

This review was made possible by Vitacost. The thoughts and views are my own. I was given a bottle of Deep Steep Glossy Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner for my time and effort on this campaign.

Mamavation Monday

Still having trouble finding my mojo, and doing the bare minimum. This isn't good because I am only 2 months from my next 1/2 marathon. I also am eating like crap.... not good. Ok ladies, I'm vowing to make this my week. I am going to kick butt this week!!! Who's with me?

Mamavation Monday

It's been a while since I've checked in. I'm trying to get myself in a groove to stay on track for my 1/2 marathon training, and it's been hard. I'm doing the bare minimum of exercise and that is not what I want to do. I have to get my mojo back.....

Ladies, what do you do when you've lost your motivation? How do you get back on track?

Kona case Review

I had the great pleasure of receiving July's Kona Kase box to review. If you haven't heard of Kona Kase, it's a monthly delivery of super yummy, and super healthy food samples for a very reasonable price of $15 per month. My box included the following:

Perky Turkey Jerky
Enjoy Life Seed & Fruit Mix
Pro Bar
Health Warrior "Chia on the Go"
Caveman Cookies (these were really good, tasted just like the bad for you cookies :) )
Garuka Bars
Barbara Lllewellyn Granola (I could not believe how filling this was)
Body Glove Surge Gel

Let me tell, everything in the box was so delicious.I have to say, I think the Perky jerky and the Barbara Llewellyn granola were my favorite though. I was really surprised to see how many samples they load in the box. Definitely worth the value.

So how does it work?? Basically you sign up, pay $15 and receive your box... but for more detailed information check out here. It's really reasonable with no commitment. They don't charge you any shipping fees and you can cancel anytime. Check out Kona's link and sign up today!!!!

This review was made possible by Kona Kase. The thoughts and views are my own. I was given a one month subscription for my time and effort on this campaign.

Mamavation Monday

So this past week has been ok for workouts. I got one run in on Wednesday, and man was that a tough one. It was intervals of 30 sec hard, 1 min easy, and 40 sec hard, 1 min easy for 10 reps. The rest of the week I did a lot of cross training. Next week is the last week of my online bootcamp, and I have started my 1/2 marathon training plan, so it will be a busy week for me. I'm still working on my portion control and making sure I am drinking enough water, but I am doing much better :)

Tonight we will be having a slumber party on Mamavation TV, which always proves to be fun. Come check it out with us -

I hope you all had a great week, and that your next week will be even better :D

Fabulous Friday

It's a fabulous Friday! My kids survived their first week of school this year, with one in 10th and the other in 6th, his first year in middle school. So it was a huge transition for him. So far, they both have not complained :) Tonight is the first football game of the season, and it will be a home game so we get to watch my oldest perform in the marching band. Sunday starts bowling league for both boys, and Ryan had his first high school bowling league practice last Monday. We've had a big change occur at work, and I am excited to see the results of that change come into fruition. The large tree limb that landed in my backyard (and took up my whole yard) is being removed as I type this. So all in all it's been a pretty good week.... I stressed for nothing. :) Hope everyone had a great week and has an awesome weekend.

Mamavation Monday

Happy Monday all!!! It's been a long weekend for me, but fun. My oldest had a car wash and then we celebrated my youngest's birthday with the family at Cheddars Restaurant. I'm happy to say I stayed pretty motivated with my workouts last week. This online bootcamp I am doing has been really fun. Here's my recap:

Monday - 3.63 mile interval run, 30 min walk
Tuesday - 30 mins strength training, 30 min walk
Wednesday - 3.14 mile run, 30 min walk, bowling
Thursday - 30 mins elliptical, bowling
Friday - 30 mins ab work, 30 min walk
Saturday - 60 mins of swimming
Sunday - Interval run and strength training

Next week is more of the bootcamp, and I don't find out what my exercise is until the night before. Makes it so it's definitely not boring. I have been working on my portion control, still need to do better on that, and I need to up my water intake. How about you? How was your week?

Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday, all!! I've finally started getting back into the swing of things after vacation, and have really made a dent in my work pile. I also have worked out every day since August 1st thanks to an awesome online boot camp given by Gracie's training. It's a different 30 minute workout everyday, and we don't know what it will be until the night before. I am loving it!!!!

This weekend plans on being another busy one. The oldest has a band car wash tomorrow, and we are having a family birthday lunch for the youngest on Sunday. In between that I have to finish our school shopping and get the youngest a haircut.

What are your plans for the weekend?
