Mamavation Monday

So this past week has been ok for workouts. I got one run in on Wednesday, and man was that a tough one. It was intervals of 30 sec hard, 1 min easy, and 40 sec hard, 1 min easy for 10 reps. The rest of the week I did a lot of cross training. Next week is the last week of my online bootcamp, and I have started my 1/2 marathon training plan, so it will be a busy week for me. I'm still working on my portion control and making sure I am drinking enough water, but I am doing much better :)

Tonight we will be having a slumber party on Mamavation TV, which always proves to be fun. Come check it out with us - http://www.mamavation.com/category/mondays

I hope you all had a great week, and that your next week will be even better :D

Fabulous Friday

It's a fabulous Friday! My kids survived their first week of school this year, with one in 10th and the other in 6th, his first year in middle school. So it was a huge transition for him. So far, they both have not complained :) Tonight is the first football game of the season, and it will be a home game so we get to watch my oldest perform in the marching band. Sunday starts bowling league for both boys, and Ryan had his first high school bowling league practice last Monday. We've had a big change occur at work, and I am excited to see the results of that change come into fruition. The large tree limb that landed in my backyard (and took up my whole yard) is being removed as I type this. So all in all it's been a pretty good week.... I stressed for nothing. :) Hope everyone had a great week and has an awesome weekend.

Mamavation Monday

Happy Monday all!!! It's been a long weekend for me, but fun. My oldest had a car wash and then we celebrated my youngest's birthday with the family at Cheddars Restaurant. I'm happy to say I stayed pretty motivated with my workouts last week. This online bootcamp I am doing has been really fun. Here's my recap:

Monday - 3.63 mile interval run, 30 min walk
Tuesday - 30 mins strength training, 30 min walk
Wednesday - 3.14 mile run, 30 min walk, bowling
Thursday - 30 mins elliptical, bowling
Friday - 30 mins ab work, 30 min walk
Saturday - 60 mins of swimming
Sunday - Interval run and strength training

Next week is more of the bootcamp, and I don't find out what my exercise is until the night before. Makes it so it's definitely not boring. I have been working on my portion control, still need to do better on that, and I need to up my water intake. How about you? How was your week?

Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday, all!! I've finally started getting back into the swing of things after vacation, and have really made a dent in my work pile. I also have worked out every day since August 1st thanks to an awesome online boot camp given by Gracie's training. It's a different 30 minute workout everyday, and we don't know what it will be until the night before. I am loving it!!!!

This weekend plans on being another busy one. The oldest has a band car wash tomorrow, and we are having a family birthday lunch for the youngest on Sunday. In between that I have to finish our school shopping and get the youngest a haircut.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Color Run

So there is this awesome new race/run series sweeping the US called the Color Run. The fun thing is this race isn't about racing, it's all about having fun! The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations. And they only have two rules, 1. Wear white at the starting line and 2. Finish the race plastered in color.

How much more fun can you ask for? So, now you're ready to race, and of course want to know if there is one close to you.... check out here to find out. Want some more info on this great race, their about page has tons!!!

Check out this cool video on the run!!!

I have some great news for you, too..... I can save you $5 off the entry fee. If you are not in the Orlando area, put COLOR5OFF in the promo code. That code will work for any city that is not sold out. If you are local to Orlando, put COLORORLANDO into the promo code. Another option to save $5 is to register as a team of 4 or more, and you can use the other promo code on top of it, so you will save $10 off your entry fee..... Isn't that awesome?!?  How does a “Color Team” work compared with a solo runner? Pretty simple, you register as a (4 minimum/infinity max) unit rather than as an individual.  You get to pick a groovy custom team name, anything from The Roy G Biv All-stars to We Sweat Rainbows.  You then get to run/walk together and “help” each other get really colored up over the 5 color kilometers.  There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately.

Okay, so now I know you all are going to head out and register, and for those that are running in Orlando, I look forward to seeing you there!!!

Mamavation Monday

Hello all.... I have to say I was not very motivated last week. It seems trying to get back in swing after vacation was harder than I thought, and I was very good with my eating either :( So, needless to say I gained over 5 lbs between vacation and last week.......Good news though! I joined an online virtual boot camp on August 1st and so far, I have stuck to it (I know it's only 4 days, LOL).  Here's my recap for last week -

Monday - 2 hrs walk around Sea World
Tuesday - 30 min walk
Wednesday - 30 min walk, bowling
Thursday - Baseline test for Bootcamp, 30 min walk
Friday - 30 min interval run 1 min hard/ 1 min easy
Saturday - 3.11 mile run
Sunday - 30 mins worth of ab work

Unfortunately, (or maybe it's a good thing) I do not know what my workout will be until the night before, so I can't specify my schedule this week other than it will be 30+ mins of something every day.

My Goals this week:
- Complete my online boot camp work every day
- drink 100 oz water daily
- PORTION CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about you? How do you get back on track after your vacation?

Oh, one last thing..... You have to join on us Mamavation TV tonight at 10pm EST where Kim from Episencial will be talking with us about  what toxins are present in personal care products, why we should avoid them, and what to look for on product labels.

Fabulous Friday

Well my first week back to work is over!! Yay!! I always hate the week back after vacation, my desk is overflowing and I just don't know where to begin. But, I made it through and my desk appears to be a little neater. Now, I'm ready for the weekend to begin for some down time and family time. I also started a 30 day online boot camp, and I'm really psyched for it. I suffer from severe case of exercise ADHD and I needed something new.
