Mamavation Monday - preventing your children from toxins

Well I had a pretty decent week last week. I got in 2 out of my 3 runs, and did my XT. I also lost 1 lb!!! YAY!! Let's hope it stays off. Here's my recap -

Monday - Mash Up Conditioning
Tuesday - 6 mile run
Wednesday - Mash Up Conditioning
Thursday - 3.23 mile run
Friday - Mash Up Conditioning

This week my goal is to continue with Mash Up Conditioning for my XT and get 3 runs in. I also am working on portion control and drinking at least 64 oz of water per day.

Today's Mamavation TV is about minimizing our children's exposure to toxins. This is really near and dear to my heart because I want my children to be healthy and happy, and toxins can put a stop to that. If you're interested in learning more check out Mamavation TV tonight at 9 pm EST, right here.

Sunshine burgers review

I got the pleasure of being able to test out and review sunshine burgers. Sunshine burgers are vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free and USDA organic. All awesome words in my book :) I have tried different non-meat burgers, and honestly haven't been extremely impressed, but I find the sunshine burgers to be actually really good. They have 8 different varieties and all are made with a mixture of vegetables, beans, brown rice or hemp seed. And they are super easy and quick to make. They are already fully cooked, so you are just basically reheating them.

Since, I'm not extremely creative, I didn't make to elaborate of recipes. I made a traditional burger with the black bean southwest burger. Absolutely yummo!!!

And, then I decided to go crazy with the mushroom burger, and do a chili cheese burger on an english muffin. Again, yummo!!!

But they have a ton of recipes on their page, that I plan on trying with some of the other varieties they offer.

This is definitely a great option for me to have quick, healthy lunches since I usually workout during lunch. This way I can get my 1/2 hour workout in, and then make a quick burger and still eat whole.

So now that I have you hooked and ready to run out and buy them.... where do you get them, you wonder? I am lucky enough to have it at my favorite grocery store, but here's the link where you can find yours.

So, what are you waiting for... run, walk, drive, whatever.... go get yours!!! :)

Mamavation Monday - Removing toxins from your home

Happy Monday all..... I'm staying consistent with some of my workouts, but I really need to step it up and also work on portion control. Here's my recap for the week -

Monday - Mash Up Conditioning
Tuesday - 5.5 mile run
Wednesday - Mash Up Conditioning
Thursday - Mash Up Conditioning
Friday - Mash Up conditioning

Didn't get much down this weekend, I'm still battling this cough and have been feeling a bit rundown. Hoping that I get an upswing really soon. My goals for this week are to continue the Mash Up Conditioning on my XT days and run on Tues, Thurs and one day this weekend.

Tonight's mamavation tv show is about how to remove toxins from our air and water. This is another good one because all these chemicals are damaging our children and our world. I can not wait to learn more tonight. Interested in joining me, check it out here at 9 pm EST.

Monday wrapup - a day late

Last week I did pretty well. I didn't get as many runs in as I would've liked, but I did get a 5 mile run in on Tuesday. The rest of the week the weather didn't cooperate and my treadmill was buried, but I made the best of it and did a different workout.

Monday - Mash up Conditioning Tempo 1
Tuesday - 5 mile run
Wednesday - Mash up Conditioning Tempo 2
Thursday - core exercise
Friday - Mash up Conditioning Tempo 1 & Tempo 3

The Mash up conditioning workout is a new one for me and I really like it. I also am doing a exercise/photo challenge called Move Nourish Believe challenge through Lorna Jane. It's been a lot of fun, and challenged me to get out of my comfort zone a little :) Next week, I am going to continue with the Mash up Conditioning workouts on my XT days and I hope to get 3 runs in :)

How about you? How are your workouts coming?

Mamavation Monday - how do you fit exercise in?

Sorry about this missed post last week, but I have been battling a cold for over 2 weeks now, and I all I managed to get in for exercise is the #2weekchallenge. Thank goodness for @mrbookieboo's accountability or I may not even have gotten that in.  I'm hoping for a better week this week, but I still have a nagging cough. My plan is to add Turbo Fire workouts in and run 3 times this week.

This week we're talking about how we fit workouts in, and as a busy mom of two that is very difficult. I am not a morning person, so I have a hard time getting up to do them before work, which would be the ideal time to get it done because then I would be sure that nothing would get in the way. Most of the time, I workout at lunch time. It's easy to get a 1/2 workout in, and a quick shower if I need it and then head on back to work. Luckily I can eat at my desk, so this schedule is usually ideal for me. My puppy likes to run with me, so I usually save my runs for the evening and take him along. Another plus for me is when my youngest plays soccer. They have a really nice paved path around the park, so I can usually get between 4 and 5 miles done while he practices. This will be starting up again next week, so I have no excuse ;)

How about you? How do you fit your exercise in?

Storm MP3 Review

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review a great MP3 player by the folks over at ToiletTree Products.  The really cool thing about this is that it's water resistant so you can use it in the shower, by thte pool or anywhere that it could possibly get splashed. Which was great for me, because I love to listen and sing to music and the only place my family "allows" me to sing is in the shower, so now instead of a little radio with barely any channels, I get to have a MP3 player with up to 500 songs on it. It's also easily mountable, but you can detach it so you can take it from the shower to the pool, and back to the shower. Never miss a song!! :)

Another plus was how easy it was to transfer the music that was already on my computer on to the Storm. It took no time at all, which is great for someone who is technically challenged like me. Here's a few features that are listed on their site, but that you definitely need to know -

  •             Water resistant, rubberized exterior
  •             2 built-in speakers
  •             2 GB of internal memory (holds approximately 500 songs of average length and quality)
  •             Simple “click and drag” application to add music
  •             Shuffle design allows for random song play
  •             Comes with a USB cord to download music
  •             Includes 4 AA batteries, for approximately 73 hours of play time (this would allow for a year’s worth of 12 minute showers without having to change the batteries!)
  •             Comes with a wall bracket for mounted and/or portable use
  •             Available in Black or White
  •             FCC approved
All, and all I would give this MP3 player an A+. It's easy to use, very durable, and has a great sound. So now that you're ready to purchase this so you can sing in the shower like me, head on over here.
