Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday peeps! It's been a pretty darn good week. I've been consistent with my workouts and put in a few miles. Boys have behaved for the most part and work is normal. :) I wish I could say my runs were speedy, but it's been hot, so I am just happy I am getting the miles in.

How has your week been?

Tasteful Thursday - Cherry Lime Ice Pops

A nice treat for the hot summer days!

Cherry Lime Ice Pops

Sweet summer cherries with a touch of lime make these sweet popsicles a perfect treat on a hot summer day.
I love the deep red color you get from using real cherries and the flavor is not that artificial cherry taste you get from those imitation flavored pops, it's richer with a more intense cherry taste.
If you plan on making these, I highly recommend buying a cherry pitter, there are so many to choose from on Amazon. Stay cool!
PS- You can find the popsicle molds on Amazon too! I used this mold, with regular popsicle sticks.

1/2 Marathon Training Week 2

Over the weekend, I spent some time going back through all my old blogs and I realized that I was more consistent when I posted what I did and what my plans were for the week, so I have decided that I am going to do that again every Monday morning.  And since, I missed week 1 of training I will tell you how I did that week as well.

Week 1 Training -

Monday - bowling
Tuesday - 21 day fix upper fix, bowling
Wednesday - 21 day fix lower fix, bowling
Thursday - 21 day fix pilates fix, 1.5 mile run
Friday - 21 day fix total cardio
Saturday - bowling
Sunday - 5 mile run

Last week -

Monday - T25 alpha cardio

Monday - T25 alpha cardio
Tuesday - T25 alpha total body circuit, 2 mile run
Wednesday - T25 alpha speed 1.0
Thursday - T25 alpha cardio, 3 mile run
Friday - T25 alpha lower focus, ab intervals

Sunday - 6 mile run

Are you training for any races or events right now?

Life is super busy

Hey all... Sorry about the lack of blogs. I have been working on my master's degree, so it's been hard for me to write after writing all those homework assignments LOL. I just wanted to give you an update on my training. Up until last week, I hadn't ran since May, and even then it was few and far between. Well, I started my training plan for my 1/2 marathon in October and I have been doing really good following it so far. I also just started T25 last week, man is Shawn T kicking my butt!!! But I had a wakeup call a month ago..... I went for my annual physical expecting all good news and accolades from my doctor and she chastised me. My cholesterol was high (not eating like I should), she wanted me to lose some weight (I'm about 15 lbs more than I should be), and I have high blood pressure (not super high, but high enough to put me on meds). So, back to giving it my all again, no more excuses!!!!

Happy Mother's day to me

I usually try not to be selfish at all, but that said my kids usually have been more attune to me on Mother's Day. Today I felt really nonexistent. My youngest felt that sleeping at a friend's house last night was my present and he did text me Happy Mother's Day at midnight which made me feel great. And my hubby did take me bowling and to dinner tonight, but the kids were almost nonexistent. The oldest never wished me anything and the youngest has wanted to be somewhere else when his friends weren't there. When did I become a burden to them? I try so hard to be the best mom they can have and give them everything they want. I  chaperone as many events as I can, and am at every game/competition they have. But yet, I don't feel like they appreciate me... am I just being selfish?

I'm sorry, I usually try to be much more positive but today hit me like a brick and I also want to keep it real. This is how I feel tonight :(

Skulpt AIM Final Review

I have now been able to review the Skulpt AIM for about 30 days. For those who don't remember here's my initial review

Unfortunately for me, I have been fighting being sick, and I've been slacking on my workouts so I didn't get to see the results I wanted to. But that said, using the AIM has helped me realize my shortcomings and where I need to work harder. I'm really impressed with how easy it is to use, and quickly it works. I did see some progress with my muscle quality and fat percentage, which means I'm headed in the right direction.

Another great thing, is they added a chart on the phone app so that you can track your progress. That is an important upgrade, because the whole purpose of using this is to see how you are improving and if you need to adjust your workout program

I think this product is awesome for those like me, who are passionate about working out and want to improve our health. It's also great for beginners so they can see where they need to improve, and can track their progress. I am now consistently working out again, so I can wait to see the progress using the Skulpt AIM over the next few months.

This review was made possible by Raynforest. The thoughts and views are my own. I was given a Skulpt measuring device for my efforts on this campaign.
