Fabulous Friday

Anyone down here in Central FL will agree it has been a fabulous week. A little chilly, but bright and sunny and absolutely gorgeous!!! The family and I got to take a few days and go to Busch Gardens and have a little mini-vacation during spring break. It was awesome and we had a lot of fun. Now it's Friday, and I get to see my absolute favorite local singer/comedian/one man band tonight with hubby and my friends. I don't get to see him perform a lot, so when he's in the area we definitely make it a point to go see him. Sunday is Easter, so we will get to spend some time with our Florida area family. I will be missing the rest of my family, though.

What are your weekend plans?

Fabulous Friday

I hope everyone had a great week!! Pretty busy for me, and I stayed up way to late every night this week, so I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. My oldest has a concert tonight, that I am helping out at, and then it's relaxation time.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Mamavation Monday

So I'm getting back on track with my exercising, but my portion control is out of control. I know what I need to do to fix it, but I haven't been able to make myself do it. I know if I eat my initial portion and then wait 5 minutes, I won't want seconds, but my hubby's cooking is just so good, I can't stop after one serving. I also have been completely slacking on my water drinking. Here's my recap for last week.

Monday - Turbo Fire Low HIIT 20, bowling
Tuesday - 30 min walk, 2.5 mile run
Wednesday - Turbo Fire HIIT 115, 30 min walk, bowling
Thursday - 30 min walk, 3.2 mile run, bowling
Friday - Turbo Fire Core 20, 30 min walk
Sunday - 5K virtual St. Patty's Day Run

Plan for this week:

Monday - Turbo Fire HIIT 20, 30 min walk
Tuesday - 2-3 mile run, 30 min walk
Wednesday - Turbo Fire Low HIIT 20, 30 min walk, bowling
Thursday - 3 mile run, 30 min walk
Friday - Turbo Fire Low HIIT 25, 30 min walk
Sat/Sun - 4-5 mile run

Goals for this week:

1. Work on portion control
2. Drink more water
3. Up my miles on my weekend run

What are your goals for this week?

Fabulous Friday

It's Friday again, and that in itself is fabulous. My boys have a bowling tournament this weekend, so hopefully I will squeeze in a run sometime. Ryan has his Concert MPA this evening, so his weekend is very busy. It will just be the hubs, me and my youngest. I love that we get to spend some alone time with him.

What's on your agenda for this weekend?

Kind bar review

My friends over at Vitacost sent me a couple of KIND bars to try out the other day. One was a KIND Plus cranberry almond, and the other was a KIND fruit & nut. If you have not tried these bars, you need to. They are OMG goodness!!!! Full of fruit and nuts and really good for you, too. The price is reasonable for energy bars, ranging between $16 and $18 for a box of 12 bars. Great description posted on the Vitacost site:

Mamavation Monday

Well I was a bit better with my workouts this week, but I do need to work on portion control for my meals. It's just that my hubby is such a good cook, I want to keep eating it :) Ok, here's my recap:

Monday - Turbo Fire Core 20, 30 min walk
Tuesday - 3 mile run, 30 min walk
Wednesday - Booty Boot Camp, 30 min walk
Thursday - Turbo Fire HIIT 15, 30 min walk
Friday - Turbo Fire Sculpt 30
Saturday - Mamavation 5K

I've decided to change my turbo fire plan a bit, and do HIIT workouts on my non-running days, and then either sculpt 30, tone 30 or core 20 on my running days. I hope that it will help me stay motivated and reach my fitness goals. Here's my schedule for this week:

Monday - Turbo Fire Low HIIT 25
Tuesday - Turbo Fire Core 20, 2-3 mile run
Wednesday - Turbo Fire HIIT 15
Thursday - Tone 30, 2-3 mile run
Friday - Low HIIT 25

What does your week look like?

Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday everyone!!! It's been a beautiful, sunny week here in Florida, a bit crisp but still lovely and better than all the snow my northern peeps are getting. Today is fabulous to me because I have 2 healthy, happy children that I love to pieces even though they drive me bonkers. Earlier in the week, I was saddened to hear an old friend lost his 4 year old daughter after a year long battle with cancer. Parents, hug your children tight, we never know what tomorrow might bring!!!!

Earthpaste Natural Toothpaste Review

The wonderful folks over at Vitacost sent me a few products to review and Earthpaste was the first one I tried. I've been wanting to find a natural toothpaste for a while, so this worked out great for me. The ingredients are very simple: Purified water, Food Grade Redmond Clay®, xylitol, peppermint essential oil, Redmond Real Salt®, tea tree oil. None of the additives that you find in the well known toothpastes. The blurb they have on the Vitacost website describes the mission and values of this company the best:

  • Amazingly Natural Toothpaste
  • No Glycerin
  • No Fluoride
  • Safe to Eat
  • From the Earth
  • No Artificial Coloring
  • No Foaming Agents
You may ask, why the name, Earthpaste? It's a simple answer, really. All the ingredients in Earthpaste are from the earth. Earthpaste won't be what you are used to because it is completely natural with very few ingredients. Redmond Trading Company does not add titanium dioxide to make it white, nor do they add any foaming agents. Earthpaste is natural in color - it's how toothpaste should be. Redmond Trading Company keeps it real.
As a company, Redmond Trading Company has looked for great toothpaste for us and our kids, but have never found it - so they made their own. They use Real Salt® and hydrated Redmond Clay®, and have added Xylitol and essential oils. That's it. Nothing more. They hope you enjoy Earthpaste as much as they do!
Free Of
Glycerin, fluoride, artificial coloring, foaming agents, titanium dioxide.

Now that you know about the company, and the product, here's how I felt about it. The taste, not too bad, but I kind of miss the minty feel afterwards that you get from other toothpastes. But, my teeth feel awesome..... nice and clean. Really close to the clean feel you get after a cleaning appointment in the dentist's office. It's a pretty good value for the price, too. It runs for $4.59 on the Vitacost site for a 4 oz tube of it.

Overall, I give it an A and it definitely will make my shopping list when I need a new tube of toothpaste.

80Bites Review

12 weeks ago I was offered the opportunity to try out a new program, called 80Bites that promotes healthy eating and portion control. This program is an awesome opportunity for those who are new to the journey of living a healthy lifestyle. The program has 2 portions to it. First, they have a website which is where you gain all the knowledge of healthy eating. Second, there is an app for a Iphone or Itouch, which helps you track how many bites you take.

Each week, new information is unlocked on the website which gives awesome tips and tasks, while you you use the app to count the amount of bites you are taking every day which shouldn't go over 80. Every time you click a bite on the app, it provides you with an awesome tip. The program was based on 3 week sections, sending great information every week to learn how to change your eating habits. The first section focused on how much you should eat at each sitting, the second centered on the frequency of your meals, the third was on the quality of the food you eat and the last section was concerned on how to balance all of the information you've learned throughout the program.

I found the information provided throughout the program to be extremely informative, and I think it would be even more beneficial to someone who is just beginning their journey. I have to admit, I didn't really use the app that much. For me it really wasn't a benefit, but I could see it beneficial to someone who needs more accountability. Overall, I found this program to be really good and a pretty good value at $49.95.... so here's the good news for my readers. 80Bites has provided me with a code, BLOG25 to give you 25% off the 12 week program.

Fabulous Friday

This is definitely a fabulous Friday. First, I finished a very large project at work that has been taking up all of my waking hours. Huge relief.

Second, I reached two milestones as a Beachbody Coach. I became an Emerald coach, which is very exciting because it means that I have started my own coaching team with 2 coaches under me. Second, I reached Success Club, which means I will get as a prize a great personal development pack from Beachbody. Both of these will also help me reach out to more people, and help them reach their fitness goals. I couldn't have done it without the motivation and support from my awesome coach, Carin!!!!
