I have really slacked this week, only during bare minimum exercises. Life truly got in the way as I planned for my 1/2 marathon trip this weekend, spring break with the kids and all the band competitions and events that happened this week. I do have to brag on my kid because his concert band and his jazz band received superiors at their competitions and Friday night he and the jazz bands performed an awesome jazz revue for the community.
This weekend I ran a with my awesome sister in law and our friend that flew in from CT. It is a really pretty area in Ormond Beach. I will write a recap of my race and let you know all about it. After my 1/2 marathon on Sunday, I have some hiking, running and just enjoying my family time scheduled for all week and I can not wait for this break from our busy lives. I also will make sure to get some PIYO workouts in between.

I received the neatest product in the mail the other day to review. It's called Skulpt AIM, and it measures your body fat percentage and muscle quality. Check out there website for a more info about it. It's a really neat concept for me, and I am going to do a bit more research on how it does this before my final review of it. I think this will be a great tool in my training/exercising because it will allow me to see how much I'm progressing. We all know the scale isn't an accurate reading of how well we are doing, and usually it's the how well are your clothes fitting that we use. Which is great, because it does help show your progress. But I'm the type of person who likes to see some sort of results quicker than the inches come off, so using Skulpt AIM will help me do that. It will show the decrease of body fat and increase of muscle quality sooner. On the flip side, it will also show me if I'm not keeping up my end of the bargain. If I'm slacking and not working out, or not working to my full potential it will let me know that too. So I'm excited to try this out, and see what my results are at the end of the month.
They have an app that you set up on your phone to sync your results on, and it was super easy to set up. It also is really easy to measure your muscles, too. Instructions are right on their website, but really the only I didn't know was that you need to spray the contacts with water. Everything else was a piece of cake.
So that said, I'm throwing it out there.... These were my results from Day 1. It was an eye opener for me. I knew I needed some work, and I knew I had been slacking, but these results stared me in the face.
Stay tuned for my end of the month results!
This review was made possible byRaynforest. The thoughts and views are my own. I was given a Skulpt measuring device for my efforts on this campaign.
I am brand new to the essential oil arena, but I have one that has been a godsend to my family..... lavender oil. First of oil, it is almost a jack of all trades. Lavender works for so many things. It's a healer, great for scrapes, burns and sunburns, and it's great for muscle aches. My back aches in the morning, so I usually just rub a little on my back, and I'm good to go. But that isn't my favorite use for it. My youngest is a horrible sleeper, has always has been since he was a baby. Since I have starting rubbing lavender oil on his feet about 30 minutes before I want him to go to bed, he sleeps so much better. I mix it with a carrier oil, such as olive oil or immerse. I have found that the coconut oil you get in the store seems to overpower the smell. Immerse is my favorite because I seem to use a lot less than when I try and pour out some olive oil. I honestly don't know what we would do without it, other than have a lot of sleepless nights. Essential oils aren't always a good idea for children, so always check before you use them. That said lavender is good for children over 3 months of age.
So, I have new great things if I have peaked your interest at all. First we are hosting an awesome online event on March 27th where you can learn all kinds of awesome things. You can join us here. Make sure to RSVP so we know you are coming.
And, my second thing is even better. We are hosting an awesome flash giveaway where you get a chance to win Peel essential oil and fractionated coconut oil. I have not had a chance myself to try either of these, but I've heard they are awesome.Just send me a message if you're at all interested in learning more... I just started this journey with essential oils and Simply Aroma and I'd love to share them with you!!!
I hope to have a somewhat relaxing weekend planned. H has a soccer game tonight, and they both have bowling league on Sunday, and I have an 11 mile run planned. Other than that it should be cleaning house and grocery shopping. A typical, normal weekend for me :D
How about you? What's on your agenda for the weekend?
Sorry, I've been absent for a few months... no excuses, really, just life getting in the way. Here's what's going on in my life. I decided to go back for my Masters Degree in Public Safety Administration, training for a 1/2 marathon at the end of the month, and started the PIYO workout program. With all that on top of being a working mom, I guess I've been a little busy :) But that said, I miss my blog and all my readers, so I hope I can become a little more consistent with writing again.
What's coming up in my life? I have 3 1/2 marathons scheduled until the end of the year, and I've committed to helping a friend run her first. Then next March, crazy me committed to running the run portion of an Ironman... what was I thinking? LOL.
So how about you all? What have you guys been up to? Tell me what's going on in your life.
