Fabulous Friday
Today was a great day. I spent the first four hours of work at a kick-off meeting for the Special Olympics Torch Run. Those of you who know me, know that I have run it for the past few years, and love doing it. This year, I am actually a part of the organizing of our local event, and I am so excited. It is such a great organization that gives hope to many people with intellectual disabilities. I will still be doing the run in April, and I will keep you posted.

Inspiration Wednesday
Today's inspiration is for me as much as for you!! As I get closer to my marathon, I am getting nervous, so I need this reminder. Also in my professional life. Most of you know I am now a Beachbody coach, and I really want to make it work so that some day I can work from home and be home for my kids.

Mamavation Monday
I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving last week, I know I did. I kind of slacked a little bit with the workouts, but I didn't want to chance my knee. I've also started my taper for my marathon, so I've decided to keep my XT workouts on the mild side, too. I don't want to risk any injuries, so I'm just basically doing core workouts. When my marathon is done, I will hit Turbo Fire back hard. I can't wait!!!! So here's the recap of the week.
Monday - Les Mills Core, WOW HBBC 2012
Tuesday - Turbo Fire ab ignitor
Wednesday - Turbo Fire Core 20, bowling
Thursday - 5k Virtual Turkey Trot
Friday - bowling
Saturday - rest
Sunday - 16 miles
So not too bad, but it wasn't very intense workouts. I'm also starting a 3 day cleanse today. Let's hope I don't starve :) Here's my goal for the week:
Monday - Turbo Fire Core 20 (Cleanse Day 1)
Tuesday - 3 mile easy run, Les Mills Core (Cleanse Day 2)
Wednesday - Turbo Fire Core 20 (Cleanse Day 3), bowling
Thursday - 3 mile easy run, Turbo Fire ab ignitor
Friday - Turbo Fire Core 20
Saturday/Sunday - rest one day/ 12 mile run the other

Monkey Do Project
I ran across this project a few weeks ago, and I am so glad I did. I believe that we should help people, especially people here in the United States. The Monkey Do Project helps people in Appalachian region. Here's their mission directly from their Monkey Do Project:
The Monkey Do Project works to assist the most distressed areas of the Appalachian region by feeding the entire being: physical, spiritual and emotional. We are a nonprofit project that will donate the time and items needed to meet those basic physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We strive to be an ongoing “outreach” for the Appalachian community, and help plant seeds of growth and change within the community—homes, schools, churches and businesses.
Here's a list of their ongoing donation needs, and you can ship them to Monkey Do Project, P.O. Box 78335, Indianapolis, IN 46278 :

Inspiration Wednesday
Goals are very important to have in not only your professional life, but in your athletic life. The problem comes when you have only a very large goal that will take a long time to achieve. Yes, definitely set that goal, but also set a bunch of smaller goals so that you have success throughout your journey.

On a side note, we are hosting a virtual run/walk to benefit the girl who died last week, Amy's family. She left behind a small daughter and a husband. So I would love if you would think about participating, and please share this link with your friends. Just go to this site, Amy's Awareness Run - it has all the details. Thanks!!!!
Amy's Awareness Run - Virtual Run/Walk
Last week, I told you all about my friend Sandra, and how her friend, Amy was hit and killed during their morning 4 mile run. Well, Amy left behind a husband and a beautiful little girl. Knowing how awesome the running community is, we decided that we would host a virtual run/walk to raise money for Amy's family.
So that said, here are the details. The run will need to be completed some time between November 26th and December 2nd. You will have an option of running/walking 1 mile, 4 miles or 5+miles with different fees attached to the length. Also, if you are not interested in running, there is an option to just make a donation. We will be providing race bibs to all participants.
Next step, how do we sign up?
First, go this link, put in your pertinent information and choose which distance you will be completing, Amy's Awareness Run
Next, complete your donation through Paypal and use the address of amysawarenessrun@gmail.com to send the money to.
Let's make this run a success!!!!
